Arts, Culture + Entertainment

MusicMany local establishments offer evening bands and entertainment in the summer months, and there's always live music at many of our festivals (see the menu on the right). The Soldotna Music in the Park music series brings live music to Soldotna Creek Park each Wednesday during summer months. For more information on local music, see the Visitor's Center community calendar.

Eating + DrinkingSoldotna is home to a wide variety of excellent restaurants, from drive-thrus to coffee shops, and from boutique eateries to full-service dinner experiences. Our local businesses support arts and activities, with live music and trivia around town on specific nights.  Our community also supports a strong brewing and distilling culture, with two breweries and one of Alaska's first distilleries! As always, "Alaska Rules" are in effect -- come enjoy yourself in a casual, relaxed environment, and bring the kids for family fun!

For more information, check out the  Soldotna Visitor Center's listings.

ShoppingSoldotna serves many surrounding communities, locals, and visitors -- which means we're able to support a great selection of shopping destinations. Our city has big box general merchandise and grocery stores, independent bookstores, boutique clothing and food markets, bakeries, gift shops, cafes, and -- of course! -- a great selection of places to stop and shop for Alaska-themed souvenirs.

Farmers Markets & BazaarsSoldotna has three markets dedicated for farmers, makers, and other vendors, each operating during the normal growing / summer season. On Saturdays from 10am-2pm, check out the Central Peninsula Farmers Market at the parking lot at Kenai Spur Hwy/Corral Avenue. On Tuesdays from 3pm-6pm, the Farmer's Fresh Market is held at the Food Bank on Kalifornsky Beach Road. And on Wednesdays from 11am-5pm, the Wednesday Market is held at Soldotna Creek Park.

SportsThe Soldotna Regional Sports Complex hosts the Kenai River Brown Bears, our NAHL junior league hockey team, during the September-March season. The Peninsula Oilers (Alaska Baseball League) plays in nearby Kenai during the summer. The Twin City Raceway in Kenai also has car shows and races.
