City Manager, Stephanie Queen
The City Manager is the chief administrative officer of the municipal corporation. Under the general supervision of the City Council, the Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating results of municipal operations. This individual enforces ordinances of the City, and aligns the work of the administration to achieve the policies and goals established by the City Council.
Stephanie Queen was appointed City Manager in 2018, after serving ten years as the director of Soldotna's planning and economic development department. She grew up on the Kenai Peninsula, and attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where she received a bachelors and masters degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Stephanie serves on several boards, including the Kenai Peninsula College Council, Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District, and Alaska Small Business Development Center. She enjoys volunteering - especially working with young people to support science and technology education. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys attending community events and music festivals, reading, and being on the river or salt water with her husband and two kids.
