Airport

Soldotna's municipal airport (SXQ) is located on Funny River Road about one mile from the downtown commercial district.  It is immediately adjacent to the Kenai River.  Fly out fishing, hunting and flightseeing services are available from the airport.  Fishing and hunting guide services as well as lodging are within easy travel distance.

Airport runway 7-25 is a paved 5,000-foot long runway. Fifty temporary tie down spaces are available as well as long-term tie down areas. The City does not operate any hangar facilities, but there are privately owned hanger facilities at the airport. Private service facilities and fuel service are available at the airport.  Ultra light aircraft are also welcome to use runway 7-25. The airport has a large ramp area suitable for commercial operations and commercial lease lots.

The City maintenance department administers tie-downs, long term parking, and lease lots at the airport. The maintenance department also regularly plows and clears the runways, driveways, and taxiways during snow events. The City does not perform snow removal in leased lots or tie-downs.
