joel1Joel Todd, Assistant Director of the City's Parks and Recreation Department, was honored this week at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce Awards Luncheon.  Joel received the 'Excellence in Profession' award, which recognized his high level of professional excellence as the Assistant Director.

Having grown up in Soldotna, Joel returned home in 2015 after working in Bellingham, WA and Portland, OR with the Boys and Girls Club and in other parks and recreation capacities. He’s an avid outdoorsman, photographer, enjoys biking, climbing and even skydiving!  We are very fortunate that Joel Todd found his way back to Soldotna and the Parks and Recreation Department.

Since returning to the City, Joel has taken over the Community Schools program and implemented innovative new programming, including popular programs such as bubble soccer, human foosball, and Movies in the Park.
