Friendly Reminder: Please Remove Items from the Rights-of-Way to Prepare for Snow Plowing Season

Basketball backstops, landscaping containers, skateboard ramps, campers, vehicles, trash receptacles, etc., can become hazards if buried in snow storage areas.

The City of Soldotna Streets & Maintenance Department would like to issue a friendly reminder to all citizens. Now is the time to think about removing items that you may have placed within the streets rights-of-way. This includes basketball backstops, landscaping containers, lawn edgings, skateboard ramps, campers, vehicles and trash receptacles. Call the City Maintenance Shop at 262-4672 or City Hall at 262-9107 if you need assistance in locating the right-of-way in your vicinity.

We appreciate your efforts to beautify our City and maintain the right-of-way in front of your property.  The right-of-way is the snow storage area in the residential sections of our City. Items left in the right-of-way may be damaged inadvertently and become hidden plowing hazards once they are covered by snow. Please help us to ensure the safety of our citizens and visitors and allow us to more quickly clear the streets during snow events by removing these items now, before the first snow falls!
