2018 Regular Election

The regular election for the City of Soldotna will be held October 2, 2018. The following seats are to be filled:

Soldotna City Council

Seat A – One, to be elected for a three-year term expiring October 2021

Seat C – One, to be elected for a three-year term expiring October 2021

Seat F – One, to be elected for a two-year term expiring October 2020

 

Candidate Qualifications:

   To be eligible to run for City Office you must be a resident of the City for at least one year preceding the date of declaration, a citizen of the United States, and a qualified voter of the city.

   A Public Official Financial Disclosure Statement must be filed with the City Clerk at the time of filing a Declaration of Candidacy.

   All candidates for public office are subject to the requirements of AS 39.50, Public Official Financial Disclosure Law, and must file the required campaign disclosure statements with the Alaska Public Offices Commission.

Declaration of Candidacy:

   Candidates must file a declaration of candidacy with the Soldotna City Clerk, 177 N. Birch St., Soldotna, Alaska during the candidate filing period which begins on August 1, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., and closes on August 15, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.

   Candidate packets containing all required forms will be available no later than July 16, 2018 at the City Clerk’s Office, or online at www.soldotna.org.  Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  For additional information, call the City Clerk at 907-262-9107.
