SOLDOTNA POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE
December 9, 2017

AND THE DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNLESS AND UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY**
On 11-16-17 at 11:42 a.m., Soldotna police stopped a vehicle on K-Beach Road near the Sterling Highway. A passenger, Rachel M. Pendergrass, 30, of Anchor Point, was arrested on two outstanding probation violation warrants, each with a $20,000 bail. Pendergrass was taken to Wildwood on $40,000 bail.
On 11/27/17 at 12:11 p.m., Soldotna police responded to Fred Meyer for a report of a male slumped over in a vehicle in the parking lot. Richard Mattox, 57, of Kenai, was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and taken to Wildwood.
On 11/28/17 about 5:53 p.m., Soldotna police stopped a vehicle on Riverside Drive after several reddi reports were received. Robert Berg, 31, of Kenai, was arrested for driving under the influence of controlled substances and taken to Wildwood.
On 12-4-17 at 5:28 p.m., Soldotna police responded to the Auto Spa for a report of two suspicious people, possibly under the influence of controlled substances. Officers contacted William R. Honeysett, 32, of Anchorage, who began fighting with officers and was taken into custody after a struggle. Honeysett was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and taken to Wildwood, where he was shortly released from custody. A charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree was added later.
On 12/5/17 about 1:20 a.m., Soldotna police were flagged down by a male pedestrian near the Sterling Highway and Kenai Spur Highway intersection. Investigation led to the arrest Hayden Landrum, 24, of Kenai, for driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. Landrum was taken to Wildwood.
On 12-6-17 about 2:46 p.m., Soldotna police responded to an apartment on Marydale Avenue for a welfare check. Investigation led to the arrest of Matthew F. Scarito, 35, of Soldotna, for assault in the fourth degree, interfering with the report of domestic violence and criminal mischief in the fourth degree. Scarito was taken to Wildwood without bail.
